“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, Located in the North Cascades, Mount Baker area, roughly 2.5 hrs' drive from Seattle, the Anderson and Watson Lakes are a real treat to experience. The trail to the lakes and back is only 6 miles long with 1100 ft of elevation gain, which makes it suitable for most hikers and backpackers. There is a lot to love about this beautiful trail, but what makes it particularly interesting is the strategically placed boardwalks that spread over the wet meadows and muddy areas, and add a measure of uniqueness to the hiking experience. There are many charming spots around the lakes to enjoy. We decided to take a break at Watson Lake. Yeah baby! We had our lunch on a large rock overlooking the lake before continuing our journey to the Upper Watson Lake and its backcountry campsites. There is a lot to love about this beautiful trail. Even our four-legged hiking companion loved the far end of the lake so much, she decided to find a cushy spot in the bushes and have a well deserved rest. You guys can keep going. I am staying here. I do hope this post will motivate you to go and check out these gorgeous lakes for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Wishing you happy adventures!
